As first-year students embark on their college experience, they will all take part in Loyola's living learning program, Messina. The common text for Messina is Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson. The book, a compelling first-hand account of a lawyer who defends the poor and wrongly condemned, speaks to the inequality in the justice system.

Gettysburg College recognizes students' academic achievement in high school by awarding merit scholarships. The David Wills Scholarship goes to top-ranking applicants based upon their grade-point average, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores. Four Cloud County Community College (CCCC) students were among 55 community college scholars named to the 2017 Kansas All-State Academic Team. These students were recognized at the 22nd annual Phi Theta Kappa Kansas All-State Academic Team Luncheon held February 16 in Topeka.
66 Stevenson athletes are named to the MAC Spring Academic Honor Roll, representing 10 sports programs.
During Spring Break, 50 members of the Stevenson University community traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to dedicate a week rebuilding homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Each October, Stevenson University sponsors the "Build Community Day" for all students. During the event, hundreds of students, faculty, and staff devote a full day to giving back to the community by contributing to hunger relief programs, economic development projects, and environmental sustainability establishments throughout the greater Baltimore region.
Theses students were inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Over spring break, ten students participated in a one-credit opportunity course (OCO304) involving a nine-day trip to Berlin. In correspondence with this trip, students enrolled in or had already completed ART 305 (Topics in Art History: Design), HON 214 (City as Text), or ENG 244 (Introduction to Creative Writing). Students will produce a final project reflecting their experience through drawings, travel writing, film, or design models.
This May, over 200 students were inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success.
